Undefeated Cruiserweight Boxing Champion of the World




Johnny " Ivanson " Nelson 

Born 4th of January 1967. A professional boxer from Sheffield, England. He was the WBO Cruiserweight World Champion for over six years. The world title came by when he defeated Carl Thompson in 1999. Johnny then successfully defended the title 13 times. He also previously held the  WBU & WBF Cruiserweight title.

His fight record is 45 wins ( 29 by knockout ) 12 losses, 2 draws.

Johnny had a good number of high profile fights. His 14th defence of the WBO cruiserweight title was scheduled against Welshman Enzo Maccarinelli  for March 2006, but an injury forced the fight to be cancelled and Johnny announced his retirement from professional boxing a few months later in September 2006 due to that injury.

Since retirement.
Johnny  is now a pundit for  the Sky Television Network. Since his retirement from the ring he has spent time working with young people. Johnny has worked with the prison services, businesses and football clubs to show young people how the choices we make early in life are so important to how you live the rest of your life.

Personal life.
Johnny still lives in Sheffield with his wife and two daughters.
